Every March and April the phone starts ringing — and for good reason. After a damp NI winter, most driveways and patios look at least 30% darker than they actually are, and the grass is usually crying out for its first proper cut. Here's the order I'd tackle yours.
1. Start with the driveway
Powerwash the driveway first. Block paving, concrete, tarmac — whatever you've got, a proper pressure clean lifts months of green algae, black tyre marks and ground-in dirt in a single visit.
2. Move on to the patio & paths
Same treatment for the patio, paths and any paved areas around the back. By the time the better weather arrives, you'll actually want to sit out on it again.
3. First proper grass cut of the year
Once the hard surfaces are sorted, the grass is next. The first cut of spring sets the tone for the whole season — short enough to tidy it up, but not so short you scalp it. After that, regular cuts every 2–3 weeks keep it looking sharp.
